Carver Center is currently closed to the public in response to the current health crisis until further notice. The Carver Market continues to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 1:00pm. We stay open as long as supplies last, typically around 3:30pm.
To meet current demand, Carver Center has closed its self-choice market inside the building and is distributing pre-packaged food and meals from the playground behind the building. We also distribute diapers, masks and hand sanitizer as donations of product allow.
Carver Center is working closely with community partners to provide food and supplies. We are working closely with Meals on Main Street by Caritas, Feeding Westchester, 914 Cares, St. Francis A.M.E. Zion Church, the Salvation Army and the Town of Rye.
Anyone in need of groceries, produce or take-out meals is welcome to come to the Market. Please visit our Facebook Page for frequent updates on any immediate needs and/or changes to Market hours. https://www.facebook.com/pccarvercenter
Carver Center remains committed to meeting the evolving needs of the community.

From Legislator Nancy Barr – NYS COVID Rent Relief Program
The deadline for renters to apply for help under the New York State COVID Rent Relief Program has been extended to February 1, 2021 and eligibility has been expanded.
The program provides eligible households with a one-time rental subsidy that will be sent directly to the household’s landlord. Applicants will not need to repay this assistance.
Previous Applicants for COVID Rent Relief will not have to reapply to be reconsidered. Using the new criteria, New York State Home and Community Renewal will re-evaluate all previous applications who were denied and issue revised determination letters to applicants.
For the next round of applications, tenants will have to meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be a renter and have a primary residence in New York State;
- Applicants must have lost income during the period of April 1, 2020 to July 31, 2020;
- Before March 7, 2020, household income must have been at or below 80% of the Area Median Income, adjusted for household size; and
- Households must be “rent burdened” during the months they are applying for assistance between April 1, 2020 to July 31, 2020.
For help, applicants can contact HCR’s COVID Rent Relief Extension Program Call Center for assistance at 1-833-499-0318 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Call Center representatives are available Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Call Center staff are available to assist residents in filling out the application over the phone.

The Village of Port Chester has provided the following helpful resources for the community in response to Covid-19.
Westchester County’s Executive Office has been a great champion of
Carver Center. We’d like to share the following PSA’s that were created to promote public education on proper coronavirus procedures.
