Carver Center Afterschool Elementary Program
Port Chester Carver Center is pleased to partner with the Port Chester -Rye Union Free School District to provide an after school program for the 2025-2026 school year for all four elementary schools.
For 181 school days, our afterschool program provides a safe and enriching environment for elementary students. Children engage in arts, sports, STEM activities, and receive a daily, nutritious meal, prepared by our food services team. Last year, 585 children participated in this program.

Carver Center RECOVS Program
Launched in the fall of 2024, the RECOVS program, operated by Carver staff in close partnership with the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District, is funded by the NYS Recover from COVID School Program Grant, and operates in all Port Chester schools and at Carver Center.
The program consists of three key focus areas:
1. Welcome Centers at the Port Chester Middle and High School – Carver Centers onsite academic liasions and case managers operate the program that is built to support students who have recently arrived to the community or as been identified as needing extra support as English Language Learners. Identified students have the Welcome Center built into their schedule . In the first year, the program served 456 students.
2. Academic and Social-Emotional Interventions
642 students were given reading level specific instruction and age-appropriate social-economic workshops.
3. Targeting tutur support for Middle and High School students. 34 teens received English language instruction, essay writing, and academic support.
