With summer right around the corner, it’s time to think about how children will eat healthy while school is out.
Over half of the students in Port Chester are eligible for free or reduced lunch throughout the school year, leaving them without a daily healthy meal during the summer months.
The Port Chester Carver Center will be providing free breakfast and lunch as a part of their summer camp to over 100 children this summer in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), ensuring children in our community have two nutritious meals daily to keep up with the fun summer activities that lay ahead!
Each year, the USDA partners with local organizations like the Port Chester Carver Center to provide free meals to children under the age of 18 when school is out for the summer.
